Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe

This is the most tried and tested recipe from my kitchen! It is simple to make and it is so versatile. I use the same recipe for bread, filled buns, chicken bread, naan and of course, pizza!

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup warm water (no warmer than 60°C)
  1. Mix the first 4 dry ingredients together⁣⁣

  2. Add 1 tablespoon of the oil and mix in until dough is crumbly⁣⁣

  3. Add your water and knead into smooth dough ball (about 5-8 minutes)

  4. Add 1 more tablespoon of oil at the end to coat the dough and bowl in oil

  5. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise for 1 hour in a closed space (I use my oven – turned off!)⁣

  6. After one hour, your dough should have doubled in size

  7. Separate the dough into 2 balls and place one back in the covered bowl

  8. Grease your baking tray or pan with some oil

  9. Roll out the dough into a 8-10" round circle and add your favourite toppings⁣

  10. Repeat above step for the second pizza

  11. Let your pizzas rise for 20-30 minutes

  12. Preheat your oven to 450°C (convection)

  13. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden⁣
