Below, you will find the lesson plans for our Dhul Hijjah unit. You can download one, or all of them. All lessons in this series are written with the intention of teaching children important concepts in the simplest manner possible. Each lesson will include a hands on activity for children to apply the lesson learned.

Lesson 1: We learn about the Hijri calendar, the four sacred months and the virtues of Dhul Hijjah.

Craft 1: Create a matching Hijri calendar activity of your own!

Lesson 2: We learn about the great test of Prophet Ibrahim (as) and why we celebrate Eid al-Adha.

Craft 2: Create the “sheep from heaven” that was sent down to replace Prophet Ismail (as) in your own home!

Lesson 3: We learn about the day-by-day process of Hajj and its relation to Prophet Ibrahim (as)

Craft 3: Replicate the tradition of replacing the Kiswah on the Kaaba with this ‘scratch the surface’ activity!

Lesson 4: We learn about Udhiyah/Qurbaani, its purpose and how we distribute the meat.

Craft 4: Teach which animals are premissible for sacrifice and how the meat is distributed in three parts.

Lesson 5: We learn about Eid al-Adha and how it is celebrated.

Craft 5: Write Eid al-Adha cards and money envelopes to wish your friends and family a Happy Eid!
